This paper showcases research from the π—£π˜‚π—―π—›π˜‚π—―π˜€ project, an initiative that seeks to develop non-profit community networks grounded in public values, providing an alternative to commercial tech giants. Through co-creation workshops, interviews, and focus groups, this research explores how civic organizations envision and design their ideal digital public spacesβ€”and what value tensions arise in the process.
This paper contributes not only to the UX design of PubHubs but also to the broader debate to the broader debate on public digital infrastructure.
